RES 1970-191 - 00009884252 RESOLUTION NO.. 191 -1970 RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: SANITARY SEWER AND STORM SEWER PROJECT NO. 100 WHEREAS, pursuant to a Resolution No. 19.0 -1970 of the City Council, adopted on the 21st day of September, 1970, Comstock and Davis, Incorporated, Consulting Engineers, has prepared plans and specifications for all the improve- ments proposed by Resolution No. 190 -1970 and has presented such plans and specifications to the Council for approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE.IT RESOLVED,.by.the Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the improvements proposed by Council Resolution No. 190 -1970 shall hereafter be designated as Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Project No. 100. 2. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby approved. 3. The work to be performed under Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Project No. 100 shall be performed under one contract. The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be pub- lished for two (2) weeks (at least 10 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered.at 12:00 o'clock Noon on the 19th day of October, 1970 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the .City Engineer, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five per cent (5%) of the amount of such bid. That the advertisement for bids for Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Project No. 100 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. Brunsell 253 NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager on the 19th day of October, 1970, at 12:00 Noon, and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regular Council Meeting at 8:00 P.M. on the 19th day of October, 1970, for the furnishing of work and materials for the installation - of Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Improvement Project No. 100. The Project consists of the following: 2,150 L.F. 8 to 6" Sanitary Sewer with Related Appurtenances 1,200 L.F. 36" to 24" Storm Sewer with Related Appurtenances All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock and Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone 784 -9346. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager, and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $18.00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the d&te of opening bids, and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good condition prior to the bid opening. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
