RES 1970-66 - 0000970676 RESOLUTION NO. 66 -1970 RESOLUTION RECEIVING FINAL PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING BIDS FOR WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 95, SCHEDULE B WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution #154 -1969 of the City Council of Fridley, Comstock 4 Davis, Incorporated, Consulting Engineers, have pre- pared plans and specifications for Schedule B,C, and D under proposed improvements as described in the Addendum #1, the Supplement to the Preliminary Report for the Water Utility dated August 1969 and have pre- sented such plans and specifications to the Council for approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fridley as follows: 1) That such plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby received and approved. 2) That the work involved for the improvement as listed below shall be designated as Water Improvement Project No. 95, Schedule B. Booster Station & Pumping Installation on 73'z (Report - Schedule B) Pumping Installation and Iron Removal Plant at 69th and University Avenue N.E. (Report - Schedule C) Pumping Installation and Well House at Great Northern Industrial Park (Report - Schedule D) 3) The work to be performed under this Project may be performed under one or more contracts as may be deemed advisable upon receipt of the bids. The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertise- ment shall be published for three (3) weeks (at least 21 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered for Project #95, Schedule B at 1:30 P.M. on the 13th day of April, 1970 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Engineer and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five percent (5 %) of the amount of such bid. That the advertise- ment for bids for WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #95, SCHEDULE B shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. KIRKHAM 77 NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota at the office of the City Manager, on the 13th day of April, 1970, at 1:30 P.M., and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regular council meeting at 7:30 P.M. on the 13th day of April, 1970, for the furnishing of work and materials for the installation of Water Improvement Project #95, Schedule B. The Project consists of the following: Four deep well turbine pumps, (three electric motor driven and one natural gas engine driven), booster pumping installation, two pump houses, one combination pump house and water treatment plant building, iron removal pressure filters, chlorination and fluoridation equipment, piping and accessory equipment. All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley, Minnesota, be Comstock and Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone 784 -9346. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager, and copies may be obtained for the Contractors individual use by applying to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $50.00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids, and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good condition prior to the bid opening. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check ( on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota in an amount of not less than 50 of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation.
