RES 1971-91 - 00009362162 RESOLUTION NO. 91 -1971 RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: WATER, SANITARY SEWER AND STORM SEWER PROJECT NO. 103 WHEREAS, pursuant to a Resolution #84 -1971 of the City Council, adopted on the 19th day of July, 1971, Suburban Engineering, Incorporated, Consulting Engineers, has prepared plans and specifications for all the improvements pro - posed by Resolution #84 -1971 and has presented such plans and specifications to the Council for approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the improvements proposed by Council Resolution #84 -1971 shall hereafter be designated as Water, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Project #103. 2. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby approved. 3. The work to be performed under Water, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Project #103 shall be performed under one contract. The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertise- ment shall be published for three (3) weeks (at least 21 days) and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and con- sidered at 11:30 A.M. on the 27th day of August, 1971 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Engineer, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five per cent (S%) of the amount of such a bid. That the advertisement for bids for Water, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Project #103 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. KIRKHAM NOTICE TO BIDDERS Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, 6431 University Avenue N.E., Fridley, Minnesota 55432 (Tel. 560 -3450) on the 27th day of August, 1971 at 11:30 A.M. and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regular Council Meeting at 8:00 P.M. on the 30th day of August, 1971 for the furnishing of work and materials for WATER, SANITARY SEWER AND STORM SEWER PROJECT #103. The utility project consists of the following principal items of work and approximate quantities: 5500 l.f. 8" VCP 2400 l.f. 10" VCP 33 each Standard Manhole 4100 l.f. 6" CIP 2200 l.f. 12" CIP 330 l.f. 14" CIP 500 l.f. - 12" CMP 450 l.f. 12" RCP 200 l.f. 15" RCP 400 l.f. 18" RCP - - All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by Suburban Engineering, Inc., 6875 Highway #65 N.E., Fridley, Minnesota 55432. Telephone: 784 -6066. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Engineer, and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to Suburban Engineering, Inc. and depositing with them $25.00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the bid opening date. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for work, and accom- panied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota) or a bidder's bond made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota, in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
