RES 1972-31 - 0000832550 RESOLUTION NO 31 -1972 RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: SANITARY SEWER, WATER AND STORM SEWER PROJECT NO. 106 WHEREAS, pursuant to a Resolution No. 26 -1972 of the City Council, adopted on the 14th day of February, 1972, Comstock & Davis, Incorporated, Consulting Engineers, has prepared plans and specifications for all the improvements proposed by Resolution No. 26 -1972 and has presented such plans and specifications to the Council for approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the improvements proposed by Council Resolution No. 26 -1972 shall hereafter be designated as Sanitary Sewer, Water and Storm Sewer Project No. 106. 2. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby approved. 3. The work to be performed under Sanitary Sewer, Water and Storm Sewer Project No. 106 shall be performed under one contract. The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in , the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for three (3) weeks (at least 21 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 11:30 A.M. on the 3rd day of April, 1972 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Engineer, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five per cent (5 %) of the amount of such a bid. That the advertisement for bids for Sanitary Sewer, Water and Storm Sewer Project No. 106 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. L b1 ATTEST: CITY CLE L - Marvin C. runsell 11 Resolution #31 -1972 Exhibit "B" NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, on the 3rd day of April, 1972, at 11:30 a.m., and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regular Council meeting at 7:30 p.m. on the 3rd day of April, 1972, for the furnishing of work and materials for the installation of Sanitary Sewer, Water and Storm Sewer Project No. 106. The project consists of the following: 2,800 L.F. 6" Watermain with Related Appurtenances 2,670 L.F. 8" Sanitary Sewer with Related Appurtenances 1,500 L.F. 15" thru 36" Storm Sewer with Related Appurtenances All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock & Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone 784 -9346. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager, and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $25.00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a b6nafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids, and to non - bidders upon the return of the documents in good condition prior to the bid opening. Bids: must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
