RES 1972-72 - 00008405RESOLUTION # 72 -1972 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING POLICY AND ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE FOR STATE AID STREETS AND OTHER ROADWAYS WHERE OTHER GOVERNMENTAL BODIES PARTICIPATE IN THE COST. WHEREAS, on November 5, 1962, the City Council adopted an assessment policy on State Aid Streets; WHEREAS, this policy has been followed since 1962; WHEREAS, the City Council of Fridley now wishes to more clearly define and modify existing policy; WHEREAS, there have been instances where this policy needed further definition and clarification; NOW BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fridley that for all street or curb and gutter improvements within the City of Fridley where all or some of the improvement cost is contributed by other governmental bodies, the following assessment policy will be followed: 1. For R -1 and R -2 zoned properties (Single or Double Family Dwellings) the assessment will be on the basis of standard residential street design. 2. For all other zoned districts the assessment will be on the basis of actual total improvement cost, but not to exceed the cost of a standard industrial 9 Ton, 44 foot minimum roadway. 3. For the loopback portion of service roads along trunk highways, where the prime consideration for their construction is traffic safety, the assessment rate for R -1 and R -2 properties be set at 2/3 the cost of a normal residential street. 4. In all other roadways constructed by other governmental bodies and where the City is participating, the total of Fridley's cost participation will be assessed, but will not exceed the maximum established in the above paragraphs.
