RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT, APPROVAL OF PLANS AND
ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: WATER IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT #1098
WHEREAS,the 17 Million Gallon Elevated Tank in Fridley
Commons is in need of repair and painting;
WHEREAS, Comstock and Davis, Incorporated, the City's
Consulting Engineers have submitted plans and specifications
for the above described work;
WHEREAS, Comstock and Davis, Incorporated have sub-
mitted these plans and specifications for immediate repairs
and improvements for the elevated 'z million gallon tank
at Fridley Commons.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Conncil of the
City of Fridly, Minnesota, as follows►
1. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which
are attached hereto and made a part hereof, are
hereby approved.
2. The work to be performed under'Water Improvement,
Project # 109B shall be performed under one
contract.
The City Engineer shall accordingly prepare and cause
to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements
for bids upon the making of such improvements under such
approved plans and apecifications. The advertisement
shall be publ4shed for two (2) weeks (at least 10 days),
and shall specify the work to be done and will state that
bids will be opened at 11:30 A.M. on the 5th day of
February , 1973 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall,
an at no bids will be considerea unless sealed and
filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit,
bid bond, or certified chech payable to the City for
five per cent (5 %) of the amount of such a bid. That the
advertisomment for bids for Water Improvement Project
#1098 shall be substantially in form as that noted in
Exhibit 118" attached hereto for reference and made a part
hereof.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the
City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office
of the City Manager, on the -5th day of February ,
1973, at 11:30 A. M. and will 6e considered by the City
of Fridley at a regular council meeting at 7:30 P.M. on
the 5th day of February , 1973, for the furnishing of
work and materials for the cleaning and repainting of the
G -.5 M.G. Elevated Water Tank, Water Improvement Project
No. 109 -B.
The project consists of the followings
The cleaning and repainting of the G -.5 M.G. Elevated
Water Tank
All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared
for the City of Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock & Davis,
Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J" Minneapolis,
Minnesota 55432, Telephone 784 -9346.
Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of
the City Manager, and copies may be obtained for the
Contractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers
and depositing with the Engineers $20.00 for each set.
The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a
bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition
within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids, and
to non -V dders upon return of the documents in good condi-
tion prior to the bid opening.
Bids must: be made on the basis of cash paymentfor the
work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check
(on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota). or
a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the
City of Fridley, Minnesota in an amount of not less than
5% of the total amount of the bid.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all
bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received
without explanation.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
