RESOLUTION NO. 25 -1973
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING PASSAGE OF AMENDMENTS TO PUBLIC EMPLOY -
MENT LABOR RELATIONS ACT-OF 1971 IN PLACE OF THOSE AMENDMENTS
CONTAINED IN HOUSE FILE 295
WHEREAS, the Fridley City Council has received and carefully
considered House File 295 which amends the Public Employment Rela-
tions Act of 1971; and
WHEREAS, House File 29S as now written would cripple the ability
of local units of government to control taxes, expenditure programs
and operations; and
WHEREAS, the League of Minnesota Municipalities and Mr. David
Kennedy, Legislative Liaison for the City of Fridley, have prepared
a series of amendments to the Public Employment Relations Act of
1971 which we believe correct the deficiencies now contained in said
act;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL that the
Council strongly urge the House Labor - Management Relations Committee
of the Minnesota Legislature to substitute the attached amendments
for House File 295, and that copies of this Resolution be distributed
to the Chairman Stanley Enebo and members of the House Labor- Manage-
ment Relations Committee.
