RESOLUTION NO. 45 -1973
A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT, APPROVAL OF PLANS AND
ADVERTISING FOR BIDS: STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1973 -10 I
(SEAL COATING)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fridley has established a
policy of Seal Coating the City streets on a regular basis,
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has submitted a plan showing the streets
in need of Seal Coating, marked as Exhibit "A ",
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT',RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Fridley „ Anoka County, Minnesota, as follows:
1. That the streets marked black on the attached map be seal
coated, and the work involved in said Improvement shall here-
after be designated as:
STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1973 -10
2. The plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer for
such improvement and each of them, pursuant to the Council
action heretofore, a copy of which plans and specifications
are hereto attached and made a part hereof, are hereby approved
and shall be filed with the City Clerk.
3, The work to be performed under STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
ST. 1973 -10 shall be performed under one contract.
The City Engineer shall accordingly prepare and cause to be insert
ed in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making
of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The
advertisement shall be published for two (2) weeks (at least 10 days),
and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will
be opened at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, the 7th of May, 1973 in the Council
Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless
sealed and filed with the City Engineer and accompanied by a cash
deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five
per cent (5%) of the amount of such bid. That the advertisement for
bids for STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1973 -10 shall be substantially
in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference
and made a part hereof.

OF APRIL , 1973.

Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley,
Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office.of the City Engineer, 6431 Uni-
versity Ave. N.E. Fridley, Minnesota 55432 (Tel. 560- 3450), on the
7th day of Mme, 1973 at 11:30 A.M., and will be considered by the City
Council of the City of Fridley at a regular Council meeting at 7:30 P.M.
on the 7th day of Mme, 1973 for the furnishing of work and materials
for STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1973 -10 (Seal Coating)
The seal coating project consists of seal coating about 4.5 miles of
streets in different parts of the City and consists of the following
principal items of work and approximate quantities.
88,018 Sq. Yds. Seal Coat using RC Cut -back Asphalt RC -800,
with FA -2 Aggregate $ FA -3 (Trap Rock) Aggregate
All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by Nasim M.
Qureshi, P.E., City Engineer, Fridley City Hall, 6431 University Ave.
N.E., Fridley, Minnesota 55432. Telephone: 560 -3450.
Plans and specifications may be examined at the Office of the City
Engineer, and copies may be obtained free of charge for the Contractor's
individual use be applying to the City Engineer.
Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for work, and accompanied
by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State
of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to
the City of Fridley, Minnesota, in an amount of not less than S% of the
total amount of the bid.
The City Coucnil reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to
waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
