RESOLUTION NO. 31 1974
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE SECTION OF HOUSE FILE 3258 RELATING TO FAIR SHARE
REQUIREMENTS FOR PART TIME PUBLIC EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, Section 179.65, Subdivision 2 of Minnesota Statutes provides in its
present form for fair share fees for non union members of a bargaining unit, and
WHEREAS, In its present form the statutes seem to be inequitable, particulary
for part time employees, and
WHEREAS, The proposed legislation would substantially reduce this inequity,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the City Council of the City of Fridley
hereby goes on record as being in favor of that section of House File 3258 relating
to part time employees which reads as follows:
Part time public employees, who are not members of the exclusive representive,
shall only be required to contribute a percentage of the dues required of the
full time, member employee; the percentage to be equal to the percent of time
they work.
