RESOLUTION NO. 70 1975
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE METROPOLITAN TRANSIT COMMISSION (MTC)
TO INSTALL ADDITIONAL PASSENGER BUS WAITING SHELTERS
WHEREAS, MTC, pursuant to authority provided in Minnesota
Statues, Section 473A.06, Subd. 5, is empowered to use public streets and
right of way for the purpose of erecting passenger bus waiting shelters;
and
HWEREAS, within the City of Fridley, there are four such existing
shelters and three more are scheduled for consturction in 1975; and
WHEREAS, the City recognizes the benfits which are being afforded
its citizens and thus wishes to request additional locations for establishing
passenger shelters within the City limits.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City
of Fridley requests that the MTC provide passenger bus waiting shelters at
the following locations:
1. University Avenue East Service Road and 75th Avenue
2. University Avenue and 61st Avenue
3. University Avenue and 57th Avenue
4. Central Avenue and Mississippi Street
5. T. H. #65 and 53rd Avenue
6. T. H. #65 and Mississippi Street
7. East River Road and Hugo Street
8. East River Road and 79th Avenue
9. 73rd Avenue and Melody Drive
10. 73rd Avenue and Baker Street
11. 73rd Avenue and Hayes Street
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the
construction of the shelter slab foundation by the City of Fridley if
the MTC would furnish the shelter structure and related appurtenances.
