RESOLUTION NO. 121 -1977
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR A BIKEWAY GRANT FROM THE
MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR FISCAL YEAR 1978
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation has approximately
$700,000 in grant money for bikeway development available for the seven
county metropolitan area; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley is an eligible applicant for these
funds; and,
WHEREAS, the East River Road Trail is a part of the bikeway system
for the City of Fridley as approved in the "Bikeway /Walkway System Plan"
adopted July 7, 1975 by the Fridley City Council; and,
WHEREAS, the East River Road Trail is also a part of the Metropolitan
Trail System adopted by the Metropolitan Council and the Anoka County
Trail System Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the East River Road Trail meets the criteria established
by the Minnesota Department of Transportation; and,
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of construction for Phase I of the
East River Road Trail is approximately $110,000 to be shared on a 75%
state; 25" local basis,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City
of Fridley that Jerrold Boardman, City Planner, is hereby authorized to
file a grant application with the Minnesota Department of Transportation
for bikeway funds for development of Phase I of the East River Road Bikeway
Trail.
