RES 1977-126 - 00007024ri RESOLUTION NO. 126 -1977 A RESOLUTION ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR MISCELLANEOUS CONCRETE CURB AND GUTTER AND DRIVEWAY APPROACH RECONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has determined there is a need for uniform driveway approach and concrete curb and gutter construction; and WHEREAS, a set of standard plans and specifications have been prepared by the City Engineer; and WHEREAS, the proposed standard contract is anticipated to reduce maintenance problems for the City and provide an economic savings to new and existing Fridley residents. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That it is the interest of the City to award bid contracts for the following service and materials: MISCELLANEOUS CONCRETE CURB AND GUTTER AND DRIVEWAY APPROACH RECONSTRUCTION 2. That the plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer for such improvement, pursuant to the Council action heretofore, a copy of which plans and specifications are hereto attached and made a part hereof, are hereby approved and shall be filed with the City Clerk. The City Engineer shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for two (2) weeks (at least 10 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the 13th day of December, 1977, in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Engineer and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid. MISCELLANEOUS CONCRETE RECONSTRUCTION CITY OF FRIDLEY BID NOTICE for CURB AND CUTTER AND DRIVEWAY APPROACH EXHIBIT "A" The City Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota will accept sealed bids on Miscellaneous Concrete Curb and Cutter and Driveway Approach Reconstruction on the 13th day of December, 1977 until 2:00 p.m. on said date at the Fridley City Hall, 6431 University Avenue N.E. Fridley, Minnesota 55432 (telephone 571- 3450). 411 bids must meet the minimum requirements of the specifications. Failure to comply with this section can result in disqualification of the bid. Bid shall be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, Cash, or Bid Bond and made payable without conditions to the City of Fridley, Minnesota, in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid, which check, cash or bond shall be forfeited if bidder neglects or refuses to enter into contract, after his bid has been accepted. A performance bond will be required after the bid has been awarded to the contractor. The City reserves the right to accept the bid which is determined to be in the best interests of the City. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive any informalities or technicalities in any bid received without explanation. The City Council also reserves the right to consider such factors as time of delivery or performance, experience, responsibility of the bidder, past performance of similar types of items or materials, availability of products and other similar factors that it may determine to be in the best interest of the City. Copies of the specifications and general conditions may be examined in the office of the Director of Public Works, or copies may be obtained from his office. All bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes and plainly marked on the outside with MISCELLANEOUS CONCRETE CURB AND GUTTER AND DRIVEWAY APPROACH RECONSTRUCTION.
