A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE MINNESOTA D PARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
CONSTRUCT A PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE ON TH 47 AT MI SISSIPPI STREET
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley recognizes that the intersection of Mississippi
Street and TH 47 is a major intersection within the,community; and
WHEREAS, the traffic flow through the inters ction causes a hazard for
pedestrian traffic in this area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has recently ad pted a bikeway /walkway plan
which utilizes Mississippi Street as a major bikeway /walkway route.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Fridley,
in order to provide safe pedestrian travel through he intersection, requests the
Minnesota Department of Transportation to construct ,a pedestrian overpass on TH 47
at Mississippi Street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the over
year 1977:
