RESOLUTION NO. 21I -1977
A RESOLUTION RETAINING A CONSULTING ENGINEERING FIRM TO PROVIDE
A LAKE RESTORATION STUDY OF MOORE LA E
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley is concerned with the existing
eutrophication /pollution problems of Moore lake within the City of
Fridley; and '
WHEREAS, the City wants to determine the problems and appropriate
recommendations for solutions toward the restoration of Moore Lake; and
WHEREAS, a study involving appropria e data collection is required
to determine the problems and provide reco endations toward lake
restoration; and
WHEREAS, a consultant, expert in the field of lake restoration
should be retained to prepare such a study.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City
of Fridley to retain Eugene A. Hickok and Associates, Consulting
Engineering firm, to prepare a lake restoration study including appropriate
grant applications which would lead to reco mendations for restoration
of Moore Lake.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that selecti n of Eugene A. Hickok and
Associates was based on the following:
1) The firm is expert in the field f lake restoration,
employing appropriate personnel pecializing in various
aspects of lake restoration tech iques.
2) The firm, being the consulting engineer for Rice Creek
Watershed District (RCWD), is familiar with the Moore Lake
area and we anticipate would be in a better position to
understand the unique problems a sociated with Moore Lake.
3) Discussions with the Minnesota P llution Control Agency
indicated that the firm has succ ssfully submitted appropriate
plans and grant applications similar to what the City of
Fridley is requesting.
