RES 1977-23 - 00007084I RESOLUTION NO. 2 -1977 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES TO DETERMINE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF CHEMICAL AND OTHER TREATMENT METH DS USED TO PREVENT OR HALT THE SPREAD OF TREE DISEASES WHEREAS, the City Council of the Cit determined that in the interest of the publ and protection of shade trees within the bo is desirous to record and monitor the effec other treatment methods used to prevent or diseases; and of Fridley has found and c health safety and welfare M aries of the City, it eness of chemical and palt the spread of tree WHEREAS, this information would be useful to the Agronomy Division of the Minnesota Department of Agriculture in evaluating various treatment methods to determine the best tree disease prevention technique, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by t e Council of the City of Fridley that any individual or business intending to use a chemical substance or treatment method, other than removal or trimming to prevent or otherwise control the spread of tree disease, notify he City Forester of such treatment and obtain a permit and identific tion tag for each tree so treated. Permit information shall include t least the type of tree(s), location(s), method of treatment and name of individual or business. A tree identification tag to be affixed to each treated tree in a clearly visible location will be issued by the City for each tree designated in the permit application. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Forester or his designee will monitor the progress of the treatment and forward the results of such treatment to the Agronomy Division Df the Minnesota Department I of Agriculture as appropriate.
