A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATION TO APPLY FOR FUNDS FOR A PLANNING
ASSISTANCE GRANT
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has appropriated planning assistance
funds to assist local units of government in developing comprehensive plans
required under the 1976 Metropolitan Land Planning Act; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley is required to complete comprehensive
plans for the City within three years of the issuance of the Metropolitan
Council's System Statement for the City as per the requirements of the 1976
Metropolitan Land Planning Act; and,
WHEREAS, it is estimated that the total cost to carry out the
Comprehensive Planning Program as required under the 1976 Metropolitan Land
Planning Act, will be approximately $22,292; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has established a Community
Comprehensive Planning Entitlement of $8,835 for the City of Fridley,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Fridley:
1. That an application be made to the Metropolitan Council for the
Comprehensive Planning Entitlement of $8,835 to be matched by the
City with in kind services in the amount of $13,457.
2. That Jerrold Boardman, City Planner, is hereby authorized and
directed to execute and to file such application with the State
of Minnesota Office of Local and Urban Affairs of the State of
Minnesota and to provide additional information and to furnish
documents as may be required by said Agency, and to act as the
authorized correspondent of the Applicant.
