A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR REDUCED WATER AND SEWER RATES
FOR SENIOR CITIZENS
WHEREAS, Section 402.08 of the City Code provides that the City Council
shall have authority to set water and sewer rates by resolution; and
1 WHEREAS, The City Council has indicated a desire to provide a reduced
water and sewer rate for senior citizens; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has taken action by Resolution No. 36 -1977
and Resolution No. 9 -1978 to set up separate rate schedules for senior
citizens who meet the certain criteria, including a maximum household
income figure,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the maximum household income
figure as used in Resolution No. 36 -1977 and Resolution No. 9 -1978 shall
be adjusted on January 1 of each year based on the increase in the Consumer
Price Index for the period of April 1977 through October of the previous
year.
