RESOLUTION NO. 81 -1978
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE INITIATION OF A SISTER
CITY PROGRAM BETWEEN THE CITY OF FOURMIES, FRANCE AND
THE CITY OF FRIDLEY
WHEREAS, the purpose of a Sister City Program is to further inter-
national understanding at all levels of community life; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley desires to foster cultural reciprocity;
and
WHEREAS, the Sister City Program includes a school affiliation
program encouraging educational exchange; and
WHEREAS, dignitaries from the City of Fourmies, France have recently
visited the City of Fridley;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Fridley authorizes the Honorable Mayor and the City Manager to initiate
procedures to affiliate with the City of Fourmies as a Sister City.
ADOPTED BY THE FRIDLEY CITY COUNCIL THIS 11TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1978.
