RES 1979-12 - 00006644RESOLUTION NO. 12 -1979 TRANSFERRING THE OWNERSHIP AND CONTROL OF THE FRIDLEY CABLE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM AND FRANCHISE TO STORER CABLE TV OF DELAWARE, INC. WHEREAS, Storer Broadcasting Company, by and through its wholly -owned subsidiary Storer Cable TV of Delaware, Inc. has requested the City Council of 1 Fridley, Minnesota to approve the transfer of ownership and control of the Fridley cable communications system and franchise from General Television, Inc.; and WHEREAS, Storer Broadcasting Company intends to merge General Television, Inc. into Storer Cable Television of Delaware, Inc. under the terms of an agreement now scheduled to close on February 15, 1979; and WHEREAS, the Notice required by state rules are duly published; and WHEREAS, the Fridley CATV Advisory Commission held a public hearing on the transfer Jan. 9, 1979 and discussed it:at their meeting of January 16, 1979; and WHEREAS, the Fridley CATV Advisory Commission voted to recommend approval of the transfer; and WHEREAS, the Fridley CATV Advisory Commission voted to recommend certain franchise ordinance amendments; and WHEREAS, Fridley City Council intends to hold public hearings on the franchise ordinances in the future; and WHEREAS, the Fridley CATV Advisory Commission has inquired into the financial ability, technical ability, and good character of Storer Broadcasting Company; THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota does hereby approve the transfer of ownership and control of the Fridley cable communica- tions system and franchise to Storer Cable TV of Delaware, Inc., a wholly -owned subsidiary of Storer Broadcasting Company.
