RES 1979-142 - 000068401 RESOLUTION No. 142 - 1979 A RESOLUTION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF NATURE CENTER VISITOR BUILDING BE IT RESOLVED BY the Council of the City of Fridley, as follows: 1. That it is in the interest of the City to award bid contracts for the following: NATURE CENTER VISITOR BUILDING 2. A copy of the specifications for the above described items and materials, together with a proposal for the method of purchase and the payment thereof have been presented to the Council by the City Manager and the same are hereby approved and adopted as the plans and specifications, and the method of acquisition and payment to be required by the City with respect to the acquisition of said items and materials. 3. The purchase of said items and materials as described above shall be effected by sealed bids to be received and opened by the City of Fridley on the 20th day of February, 1980 at 2:00 p.m.. The City Manager is directed and authorized to advertise for the purchase of said items and materials by sealed bid proposals under notice as provided by law and the Charter of the City of Fridley, the notice to be substantially in form as that shown by Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference. Said notice shall be published at least twice in the official newspaper of the City of Fridley. NEE R ATTEST: - CITY CLERK - MARVI RUNSELL ` Publish: February 13, 1980 February 20, 1980 0039A/0299A Page 2 -- RESOLUTION NO. 142 - 1980 CITY OF FRIDLEY ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS NATURE CENTER VISITOR BUILDING EXHIBIT "A" Sealed bids for the construction of a partial earth covered Visitor Center 1 building at Springbrook Nature Center, Fridley, Minnesota will be received by the Fridley City Council. Owner, at City Hall, 6431 University Avenue N.E., Fridley, Minnesota 55432, until 2:00 P.M., CST, February 27, 1980, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Combined bids will be received for the following contracts: 1 - General Construction work including Mechanical Work and Electrical Work. Bids shall be submitted in exact accordance with Bidding Documents (including Instructions to Bidders and Proposal Forms) and Contract Documents (including Drawings and Specifications) as prepared by or for Design Consortium, Inc., Architects, 1012 Marquette Avenue, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55403. Bidding Documents and proposed Contract Documents may be inspected after December 18, 1979, at the office of the Owner, the offices of the Architects, F. W. Dodge Plan Room in Minneapolis, Minnesota, or through Dodge -Scan Microfilm Service of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and at Builders' Exchanges in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Minnesota. On set of Bidding Documents and Contract Documents may be obtained from the Architects by each prime contract bidder upon deposit of $25.00. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bidder's Bond or a Certified or Cashier's check made payable to the Owner for an amount equal to 5% of the bid as Bid Security. No bid may be withdrawn within 30 days after opening of the bids.
