RES 1979-32 - 00006674RESOLUTION NO. 32 - 1979 A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT, APPROVAL OF PLANS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: WATER AND SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #126 WHEREAS, Resolution #118 -1978 adopted by the City Council on the 20th day of November, 1978 set the date for hearing on the improvements as specifi- cally noted in the Notice of Hearing attached for reference as Exhibit "A" thereto, and; WHEREAS, all property owners whose property is liable to be assessed with the making of the improvements (as noted in said notice) were given ten (10) days notice by mail and published notice of the Council hearing through two (2) weekly publications of the required notice, and the hearing was held and the property owners heard thereon at the hearing, as noted in said notice. WHEREAS, Resolution #130 -1978 adopted by the City Council of the City of Fridley ordered all of these improvements. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota as follows: 1. That the following improvements proposed by Council Resolution #117 -1978 are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible, to -wit: Watermains, sanitary sewer laterals with service connections and appurtenances located as follows: 61st Way East River Road to Ashton Avenue NE That the Work involved in said improvement as listed above shall hereafter be designated as: WATER & SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #126 ' 2. The plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer for such improvements and each of them, pursuant to the Council resolutions hereto- fore adopted, a copy of which plans and specifications are hereto attached and made a part hereof, are hereby approved and shall be filed with the City Clerk. 3. The work to be performed under WATER AND SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #126 shall be performed under one contract. The City Engineer shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for three (3) weeks (at least 21 days),and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 2:30 p.m. on the 26th day of March, 1979 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Engineer, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid. That the advertisement for bids for WATER AND SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #126 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. NEE 43 1 d CITY OF FRIDLEY NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, on the 26th day of March, 1979 at 2:30 p.m. for the furnishing of work and materials for the installation of Water & Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project #126 The project consists of the following: Sanitary Sewer: 337' of 8" P.V.C. with related appurtenances Water: 628' of 6" D.I.P. with related appurtenances All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley, Minnesota by the Public Works Director, 6431 University Avenue N.E., Fridley, Minnesota 55432, Telephone 571 -3450. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the Public Works Director, and copies may be obtained for the contractor's individual use by applying to the engineers and depositing with the engineers $25 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bona - fide bid upon return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids, and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good condition, prior to the bid opening. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota) or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
