RESOLUTION NO. 38 - 1979
RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION TO INSTALL TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT THE
INTERSECTION OF TH 47 AND 69TH AVENUE NE (ST.
1979 -5)
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley and the Minnesota Department
of Transportation (MnDOT) recognizes the need for installation
of traffic signals on TH 47 at 69th Avenue NE; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley understands that due to low
priority, and lack of funding for installation of the traffic
signals at this time, that MnDOT cannot proceed following the
normal cost sharing agreements; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley desires that traffic signals
be installed as soon as possible to protect the health, safety,
and welfare of the residents of Fridley.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Fridley requests MnDOT to design and install traffic
signals at the intersection of TH 47 at 69th Avenue NE, and
that the City of Fridley agrees to pay the construction costs._
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City
of Fridley, will pursue future reimbursement of the construction
costs from MnDOT, based on normal cost sharing agreements.
