RESOLUTION NO. 30 -1980
A RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION TO SENATOR DAVID SCHAAF FOR
HIS EFFORTS ON BEHALF OF SPRINGBROOK NATURE CENTER
WHEREAS Senator David Schaaf wasorie of the earliest advocates of the use of
North Park as a Nature Center; and
WHEREAS Senator David Schaaf served as the chief spokesperson for the Nature
Center in a series of debates held during the charter campaign to preserve
North Park for use as a nature center; and
WHEREAS Senator David Schaaf authored legislation to give the Metropolitan
Council bonding authority to construct nature centers; and
WHEREAS Senator Schaaf appeared on several occasions before the Metropolitan
Council and its committees to persuade them of the wisdom of making a grant
to Fridley to construct a nature center;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fridley,
that the council recognize the work of Senator David Schaaf on behalf of
Springbrook Nature Center and commends him for his successful efforts to
secure funding of this project.
