RES 1980-51 - 0000649476 RESOLUTION NO. 51 - 1980 A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT, APPROVAL OF PLANS AND ADVERTISING FOR BIDS: STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1980 -10 (SEALCOATING) WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fridley has established a policy of Sealcoating the City streets on a regular basis, WHEREAS, the City Engineer has submitted a plan showing the streets in need of Sealcoating NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the streets marked black on the attached map be sealcoated, and the work involved in said improvement shall hereafter be designated as: STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1980 -10 2. The plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer for such improvement and each of them, pursuant to the Council action heretofore, a copy of which plans and specifications are hereto attached and made a part hereof, are hereby approved and shall be filed with he City Clerk. 3. The work to be performed under STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1980 -10 shall be performed under one contract. The City Engineer shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for two (2) weeks (at least 10 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, the 9th day of June, 1980 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Engineer and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five per cent (5 %) of the amount of such bid. That the advertisement for bids for STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1980 -10 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "A" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. FA -2 Aggregate Sealcoat Using RC cut -back asphalt RC -800 All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by John Flora, P.E., Public Works Director, Fridley City Hall, 6431 University Avenue N.E., Fridley, Minnesota 55432 (Tel. 571- 3450). Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the Public Works Director and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the Public Works Director. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota) or a bidder's bond made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota, in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
