RESOLUTION NO. 68 - 1980
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATION TO APPLY FOR
FUNDS FOR THE ENERGY CONSERVATION PROGRAM DESIGN AND IMPLE-
MENTATION COMPETITION.
WHEREAS, the League of Minnesota Cities has received a grant from the
Minnesota Energy Agency to sponsor an Energy Conservation Program design and
implementation competition; and
WHEREAS, this competition has been designed to provide local governments the
opportunity and incentive to develop and implement energy conservation
programs in their community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has been very active in Energy Conservation
Programs and has been actively seeking opportunities to conserve the use of
energy; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has established an Energy Commission for the
purpose of stimulating interest in and promoting awareness of energy concerns
among the citizens and businesses in the city; and to serve as a resource to
the City on matters pertaining to the conservation and management of energy;
and
WHEREAS, the Energy Commission has recommended the submittal of the attached
application; and
WHEREAS, the City would be making application for the $9,500.00 award for
cities with population of 20,000 to 50,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fridley,
That the City Administration submit the attached application to the League of
Minnesota Cities for the Energy Conservation Program design and
implementation competition.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY THIS 14TH DAY
OF JULY, 1980.
