RES 1981-25 - 0000616446 RESOLUTION NO. 25 - 1981 REQUESTING CONGRESSIONAL CONSIDERATION TO PROVIDE CONTINUED FUNDING OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ENTITLEMENT FUNDS TO ANOKA COUNTY THROUGH THE THREE YEAR PROGRAM PLANNING CYCLE WHEREAS, Anoka County, Minnesota was notified on August 1, 1980 of its eligibility for Community Development Block Grant Entitlement funds as an , urban county; and WHEREAS, the City of Fridley, Minnesota as a City located in Anoka County is participating with the County under this Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Program; and WHEREAS, the County is in its first year of the three year comprehensive project development for funding under the Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Program; and WHEREAS, there is a strong concern for the potential interruption of this funding due to removal of the County from the entitlement status; and WHEREAS, if this entitlement status is lost temporarily, the disruption of funding cycles programmed for three years will have a negative effect on the project development as laid out in the first year County application; and WHEREAS, this loss of entitlement would be caused only by unusual circumstances in determining population and not by downward trends that would effect the long term determination of entitlement. Anoka County will continue as one of the fastest growing counties in this area and will again meet the standards of the urban county by 1982. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fridley ' hereby request Congressional Consideration to provide continued funding of Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Funds for Anoka County through its present three year project funding cycle.
