RES 1981-28 - 0000616850 RESOLUTION NO. 28 - 1981 A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT, APPROVAL OF PLANS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: WATER AND SANITARY SEWER PROJECT NO. 133 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota as follows: That the following improvements proposed by Council Resolutions are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible, to -wit: Watermains and Services, Sanitary Sewer Laterals and Services and Storm Sewer and Related Appurtenances located in the following areas: Sanitary Sewer Connections Jackson Street at Mississippi Street Water Looping System 68th Place (Lucia Lane to Service Drive) then North on East Side of Highway No. 65 (68th Place to 68th Avenue) Water Replacement Rice Creek Boulevard East to Cul -De -Sac That the work involved in said improvements as listed above shall hereafter be designated as: WATER AND SANITARY SEWER PROJECT NO. 133 2. The plans and specifications prepared by the Public Works Director for such improvements and each of them, pursuant to the Council Resolutions heretofore adopted, a copy of which plans and specifications are hereto attached and made a part hereof, are hereby approved and shall be filed with the City Clerk. The Public Works Director shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspapaer advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approve plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for three (3) weeks (at least 21 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 11:00 a.m. on the 7th day of April 1981 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Public Works Director, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five percent (5 %) of the amount of such bid. That the advertisement for bids for WATER AND SANITARY SEWER PROJECT NO. 133 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "A" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. INMAN 1237A [1 i Exhibit "A" 51 NOTICE TO BIDDERS WATER AND SANITARY SEWER PROJECT NO. 133 Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the Public Works Director, 6431 University Avenue N.E., Fridley, Minnesota 55432 (Tel. 571 -3450) on the 7th day of April, 1981, at 11:00 a.m., and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regular Council Meeting at 7:30 p.m. on the 13th day of April, 1981, for the furnishing of work and materials for WATER AND SANITARY SEWER PROJECT NO. 133. 1,100 Cu. yds. Common Excavation 430 Ton Bituminous - 2341 110 Lin. Ft. 8" P.V.C. 1,510 Lin. Ft. 6" D.I.P. or 6" P.V.C. for Water Main All in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by John G. Flora, P.E., Public Works Director, Fridley City Hall, 6431 University Avenue N.E., Fridley, Minnesota 55432 (Tel. 571 - 3450). Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the Public Works Director and copies may be obtained for the contractor's individual use by applying to the Public Works Director and depositing with the Public Works Director $25.00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the bid opening date. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota) or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota, in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
