WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fridley is concerned with the
potential shortage of suitable rental dwellings available to low and
moderate income families or individuals, and
WHEREAS, the potential shortage could further be aggravated by the
conversion of existing rental property to condominium form of ownership;
and
WHEREAS, the City, under the Uniform Condomimium Act, has the authority to
impose restrictions on condominium conversion if a finding is made that
there is a significant shortage of suitable low and moderate income rental
dwellings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Fridley hereby authorizes the City to do a study and hold a public hearing
before the City Council to determine if a significant shortage of suitable
dwellings available to low and moderate income families or individuals
exists in the City of Fridley.
