A RESMUrION OBJE10TING TO THE ADOPTION OF THE DRAFT

WHEREAS, the State Legislature has passed a bill dealing with surface
water management in the Metropolitan Area; and
WHEREAS, the raw was developed after months of hearings of public input;
and
WHEREAS, both the Law and the Metropolitan Council's draft plan call for
Watershed and local storm water management plans and programs to be
implenentedr and
WHEREAS, both emphasize the need to maintain and improve water quality;
and
WHEREAS. the City of Fridley is concerned with the authority,
responsibility and financial differences between the Law and the
Metropolitan Council Draft Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Fridley. Anoka County, Minnesota, that the Metropolitan Council Draft
Surface Water Management Plan be modified to conform to the State Law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY THIS 19TH
DAY OF APRIL, 1982.
