RESOLUTTM OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF FRIDLEY, MINNESOTA
SUPPORTING 7HE GRANT APPLICATION OF CENTRAL CENTER FOR

WHEREAS, citizens recognized the need for greater family resources to deal
with child and family adjustment problems in the hone, school and community in
the Blaine, Spring Lake Park and Fridley conmw d ties of Anoka County; and
'
WHEREAS, these citizens created the Central Center for Family Resources, a
non - profit corporation, to provide child and family educational and counseling
programs; and
WHEREAS, such preventive programs are a crying need with the State and County
responsibility for human and social services to allay human dysfunction as
well as the societal costs of treatment and correctional programs; and
WHEREAS, Anoka County's population is 348 of the outer five counties and Anoka
County's Part I Crime Statistics are individually higher than any one other of
said five counties; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley as well as Blaine and Spring Lake Park committed
sorely limited resources to fund the Center's 1979/80, 1980/81, and 1982/83
programs; and
WHEREAS, the Central Center for Family Resources is again applying to the
Juvenile Intervention Funds for 1982/83 funding;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Fridley hereby
supports the application of the Central Center for Family Resources and urges
the Juvenile Intervention Funds to fund said program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be conveyed to appropriate
'
officials, particularly of the Juvenile Intervention Funds and Metropolitan
Council.
