RES 1983-71 - 00005767�MMZ RESOLUTION NO. 71 - 1983 RESOLUTION RENAMING 64TH AVENUE, LYING BETWEEN UNIVERSITY AVENUE (T.H. 47) AND 5TH STREET, TO F=44IES AVENUE WHEREAS, on September 11, 1981, the Mayors of Fourmies and Fridley signed an Agreement of Friendship; and WHEREAS, on July 4, 1983, the City of Fourmies, France, Fridley's Sister City, formally dedicated one of its streets as "Rue de Fridley "; and WHEREAS, Sister Cities of Fridley, an organization of Fridley citizens has requested that as a gesture of frienship toward our sister city, a street in Fridley be named after the City of Fourmies; and WHEREAS, the portion of 64th Avenue lying between University Avenue (T.H. 47) and 5th Street is being redesigned for the Center City Project which includes Fridley Community Plaza. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fridley that: 1. The portion of 64th Avenue, lying between University Avenue (T.H. 47) and 5th Street, be renamed "Fourmies Avenue NE "; and 2. The City Clerk be hereby directed to register said street name change with the appropriate authorities of Anoka County and the United States Postal Service as well as other affected parties; and 3.
