RES 1984-11 - 00005332RESCLUTMN 110. 11 - 1984 RESOLUTION OPPOSING DEVELOPMENT OF A GARBAGE INCINERATOR FACILITY IN NORTHEAST MINNEAPOLIS BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota as follows: ' WHEREAS, Hennepin County has proposed a garbage incinerator facility on the west bank of the Mississippi River across from the Riverside power plant owned by Northern States Power Company; and WHEREAS, the development of this facility will have an adverse effect on the visual qualities of Mississippi River Corridor which adjoins the City of Fridley; and WHEREAS, the burning of garbage at this facility could have an adverse effect on the air quality in the City of Fridley; and WHEREAS, the development of this facility represents an expansion of a use that should not be located in such an environmentally sensitive area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby opposes the development of a garabage incinerator facility on the west bank of the Mississippi River across from the Riverside power plant.
