RESOLUTION INFORMING THE ANOKA COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF FRIDLEY'S DECISION REGARDING A HORSESHOE PITCHING
ARENA:
1 WHEREAS, the Fridley Horseshoe Club and a group of interested citizens have
expressed interest in pursuing the possibility of a horseshoe pitching arena;
and
WHEREAS, this arena is proposed to be located on City and County property N.E.
of the existing Columbia Arena; and
WHEREAS, such a facility would be a recreational, educational and economic
asset to the City of Fridley and Anoka County; and
WHEREAS, this facility would be constructed and operated by Anoka County) and
WHEREAS, no other City in Anoka County currently provides an arena for
horsehsoe pitching.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESCLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fridley that
this proposal is endorsed in concept; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Anoka County Board of Commissioners be
requested to provide the necessary impetus to accomplish this desirable goal.
