RES 1987-48 - 00004665RESOLUTION NO. 48 - 1987 RESOLUTION TO REVISE THE CONTRACT WITH SUPER CYCLE, INC. FOR THE FRIDAY IN FRIDLEY CURBSIDE RECYCLING PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Friday in Fridley Curbside Recycling program has been operating successfully for over 2 years; and WHEREAS, in the year 1990, the region must meet the goal of diverting 20% or more of all the solid waste generated, from being landfilled; and WHEREAS, adequate funding to support the Friday in Fridley Curbside Recycling program will be provided through Anoka County, the Metropolitan Council, the Department of Public Services and the City's waste oil recycling program; and WHEREAS, the City and Super Cycle, Inc. have negotiated the contract to incorporate biweekly collection of recyclable materials for each recycling participant in conjunction with twice a month collection; and WHEREAS, the City and Super Cycle will negotiate the rate for payment biannually in an amount not to exceed the amount generated through grants; and WHEREAS, the City and Super Cycle, Inc. will negotiate any additional changes to the contract when necessary in the future. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fridley that the City should contract with Super Cycle to continue to operate the "Friday in Fridley" Curbside Recycling program continually until it is deemed not feasible by the City of Fridley.
