RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT AND APPROVAL OF PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS:
SPRINGBROOK NATURE CENTER POND IMPROVEMENT PROJECT N0, 173
WHEREAS, the City Council has deemed it necessary to construct certain
improvements to the Springbrook Nature Center to promote wildlife habitat and
to improve enjoyment of the facility by the citizens of Fridley; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has prepared plans and specifications for
the construction of certain improvements to the Springbrook Nature Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fridley,
Anoka County, Minnesota as follows:
1. That the following proposed improvements are hereby ordered to be effected
and completed as soon as reasonably possible, to -wit:
Pond excavation, embankment placement, weir construction, grading, seeding,
and other facilities located as follows:
SPRINGBROOK NATURE CENTER
' That the work involved in said improvements as listed above shall hereafter be
designated as:
SPRINGBROOK NATURE CENTER POND IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 173
2. The plans and specifications prepared by the Public Works Department for
such improvements are hereby approved.
3. That the Public Works Director shall accordingly prepare and cause to be
inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of
such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The
advertisement shall be published for (3) weeks (at least 21 days), and shall
specify the work to be done and will state the bids will be opened and
considered at 11:00 a.m. on the 2nd day of December, 1987 in the Council
Chambers of the City Hall and that no bids will be considered unless sealed
and filed with the Public Works Director and accompanied by a cash deposit,
bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five percent (5 %) of the
amount of such bid. That the advertisement for bids for SPRINGBROOK NATURE
CENTER POND IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 173 shall be substantially in the standard
form.
