' A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF A BILL WHICH WOULD GIVE
MA TMWED HOME PARR RESIDENJ'S THE FIRST RIGHT TO
PURCHASE THEIR PARR
WHEREAS, manufactured home parks are an important form of affordable housing in
our community; and
WHEREAS, manufactured home park residents are homeowners, who are financially
invested in our community; and
WHEREAS, manufactured home park residents are vulnerable to mass eviction in the
event of a park closing; and
WHEREAS, manufactured hone park residents do not have the same opportunity as
other homeowners to purchase land; and
WHEREAS, a bill will be introduced for legislative consideration which requires
the park owner to notify residents of the price, terms, and conditions of the
sale, which gives residents 60 days to purchase the park as a cooperative, and
an additional 60 days to secure financing if the residents do purchase the park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Fridley goes
on record in support of the concept of first right to purchase for manufactured
home park residents.
