K 6:11' 6:1: WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Fridley City Council to provide fair and equitable compensation to Fridley city employees within budgetary constraints and within the terms of negotiated labor agreements; and WHEREAS, in negotiations with the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), Kcal No. 49, AFL-CIO, it was agreed that "the individual cities may, at the sole discretion of the City, unilaterally establish a system which would place employees in the Maintenance I job classification above the MASTER AGREEMENT Maintenance I rate. The system(s) could move Maintenance I employees on the basis of individual employee performance or any other job - relevant criteria chosen by the City. "; and WHEREAS, initial length of service is a job - relevant criterion recognized in the City of Fridley Is Classification and Compensation Plan; and WHEREAS, the minimum compensation for graded employees is related to the base rate for a given grade as follows: Start Base Rate After 6 Months Base Rate + 5$ After 18 Months Base Rate + 10% After 30 Months Base Rate + 15 %; and WHEREAS, employees in the Maintenance I job classification fall into Class D in the City of Fridley's Classification and Compensation Plan which has a base rate of $8.73 per hour. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fridley that for the 1989 contract year the City Manager is authorized to implement the following wage scale for Public Works Maintenance employees in the job classification of Maintenance I: Length of Service start 18 Months or more 30 Months or more Hourly Rate $9.16 plus 2.0% limp stmt (Rate in MASTER AG2EEMWr) $9.41 plus 2.0% limp stun $9.83 plus 2.0% lump slim Page 2 - Resolution No. 117 - 1988 PASSED AND ADOPTED BY 'III?
