RESOLUTION NO. 14 - 1988
RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE CITY MANAGER FOR SERVICES TO THE
CITY OF FRIDLEY
WHEREAS, in recent months the City Council has expressed its appeciation to
employees of the City of Fridley and to the citizens who serve on the various
Advisory Commissions; and
WHEREAS, under the Council- Manager form of government one City Official, the
City Manager, has a unique relationship to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the present City Manager, Nasim M. Qureshi, has recently completed
fourteen years of service to the City in that position following ten previous
years as Director of Public Works; and
WHEREAS, over the past fourteen years under his management the City has made
steady progress in all areas including but not limited to the following:
* notable improvements to the appearance of the City
* outstanding police and fire protection
* superior construction and maintenance of public works projects and
facilities
* excellent recreational facilities and programs
* consistent and orderly economic development
* careful financial management while retaining one of the lowest property
tax rates in the Metropolitan Area
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fridley that
the City Council hereby commend the City Manager
NASIM M. QURESHI
for his many years of service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council express appreciation for the
enduring contribution he has made to the growth and development of our City
and to the wellbeing of its citizens,
