RESOLUTION APPROVING LEGISLATIVE CHANGE IN FRIDLEY
VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS RELIEF ASSOCIATION STATUTE
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fridley has authorized preparation of
legislation to amend existing legislation governing volunteer fire fighter
pension retirement; and
WHEREAS, the Fridley Volunteer Firefighters Relief Association has proposed
special legislation to modify their retirement pension; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Legislature in session in 1988 has passed legislation
which authorizes the Fridley Volunteer Firefighters Relief Association to
convert their pension to a "Defined Contribution" plan; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes require approval of such legislation by the City
Council to become law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fridley that
Chapter 709 of Minnesota Session Laws, 1988 as pertains to the Fridley
Volunteer Firefighters Relief Association are hereby approved.
