A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A LAWN SPRINKLING AND IRRIGATION
WATER PROGRAM FOR THE DROUGHT OF 1988
WHEREAS, the governor of the State of Minnesota has requested conservation of
water resources during this 1988 drought season; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Health is urging the conservation of
domestic water resources; and
WHEREAS, the aquifers used by the City of Fridley are decreasing in depth; and
WHEREAS, the impact of this drought period will remain for a considerable
amount of time; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the municipality to conserve this
valuable resource.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fridley to
establish a lawn sprinkling and irrigation program as follows:
A. Sprinking or irrigation of lawn will not be allowed during the period of
' 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily.
B. The sprinkling or irrigation of lawns will be authorized on an odd /even
basis. Odd number addresses shall sprinkle on odd number days, even
number addresses shall sprinkle on even number days. This lawn sprinkling
and irrigation program will remain in effect until further notice.
