RES 1988-56 - 00004420RESOLUTION NO. 56 - 1988 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE MNDOT PLANS, SPECIAL PROVISIONS, AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF TRUNK HIGHWAY ' 694 (PHASE III) WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Transportation for the State of Minnesota has prepared: plans, special provisions, and specifications for the improvement of Trunk Highway No. 393, renumbered as Trunk Highway No. 694, within the corporate limits of the City of Fridley, from the Mississippi River to T.H. 65; and seeks the approval thereof; and WHEREAS, any grading or filling required by this project is deemed to be consistent with the requirements of the Interim Development Regulations for the Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area administered by the Minnesota Environmental Quality Board. - WHEREAS, the City Council is concerned with the timely receipt of MnDOT projects for approval; and WHEREAS, City projects are delayed due to the MnDOT review and approval process; and WHEREAS, City- funded improvements do not receive timely MnDOT action. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City does hereby agree to require the parking of all vehicles, if such parking is permitted within the corporate limits of said City, on said Trunk Highway, to be parallel with the curb adjacent to the highway, and at least 20 feet from any crosswalks on all ' public streets intersecting said trunk highway; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a grading permit is hereby approved by the City; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement and approval is contingenu upon the City receiving MnDOT approval on S.A.P. 127- 302 -09 and continued discussion will be made on the approval of interior illuminated street name signs; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a meeting with Commissioner Levine will be scheduled within the next 30 days to discuss the City's concerns; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council commends the MnDOT District 5 staff for their efforts in processing these problems and for their actions in implementing the landscaping program dealing with the noise wall issue in the North Innsbruck area of I -694.
