WHEREAS, the City has received a Gambling License Application from the Children's
Heart Fund, and
WHEREAS, the Children's Heart Fund has requested the City waive the 60 day
waiting period, and
WHEREAS, the Children's Heart Fund has hired a CPA as a gambling manager who is
earning $3,000 per month for his services, and
WHEREAS, the Section 30.03.10 of the City Code states "gambling manager's
ccnpensation shall not exceed $50.00 per week," and
WHEREAS, a Gambling License has been issued to the Lions Club, and
WHEREAS, the Gambling License for the Lions Club has not been voided by George's,
and
WHEREAS, the Lions Club has a lease agreement with George's, and
WHEREAS, George's has also signed a lease agreement with the Children's Heart
1 Fund, and
WHEREAS, there is now in existence two leases for gambling in George's.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Fridley
cannot waive the 60 day waiting period.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Fridley denies the
request for the issuance of a Gambling License to the Children's Heart Fund.
