RES 1992-13 - 00003376Heel RESOLUTION NO. 13 - 1992 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES FOR A LOCKE LAKE DAM GRANT WHEREAS, the Locke Lake Dam located on Rice Creek in Section 15, Township 30 North, Range 24 West within the limits of the City of Fridley, owned by the City has failed, and WHEREAS, major adverse economic and environmental impacts affecting the adjoining and downstream properties is imminent, including the historic Bandfill Tavern, and WHEREAS, the City has applied for a grant under Minnesota Statutes 103g.511 for reconstruction of the dam, and WHEREAS, the 1991 Legislative Laws Chapter 254, Article 1, Section 5, subd. 3 authorize a grant of $150,000 for the replacement of the dam, and WHEREAS, the City in conjunction with the Rice Creek Watershed District is developing plans to replace the dam, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, that the City Mayor and its Manager are authorized to execute documents on behalf of the City of Fridley as necessary to enter into an agreement with the State of Minnesota, Department of Natural Resources, for a grant of $150,000 in accordance with the Laws of 1991 Chapter 254, Article 1, Section 5, subd. 3 for the replacement of the Locke Lake Dam.
