WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has purchased property legally described as Lots
22, 23, and 24, Block AA, Riverview Heights, County of Anoka, State of
Minnesota, and
VE=As, the City of Fridley has plans to purchase property legally described
as Lots 25, 26, and 27, Block AA, Riverview Heights, located at 7885 Broad
Avenue Northeast, in the City of Fridley, County of Anoka, State of Minnesota,
and
WHEREAS, on said properties there are located single family residential
dwellings, and
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley desires to have said buildings removed from the
properties, and
WHEREAS, the funds used for the purchase of the properties were secured through
the Community Development Block Grant Program, and
WHEREAS, said Community Development Block Grant Program requires that a certain
amount of the funds be used for public service organizations, and
WHEREAS, said Community Development Block Grant Program also requires that if
low cost housing units are removed, it is the responsibility of the ccamu ity
to replace said housing units.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that upon taking ownership of said properties,
the City of Fridley agrees to transfer ownership of the residential dwellings
to the Anoka County Community Action Program ( ACCAP) for the express purpose of
allowing ACCAP to locate said house on a site within the County of Anoka and to
make said building and the new site available to a low income family.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this action is in compliance with the provisions
of the Community Development Block Grant Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Manager are authorized to
execute all related documents to this transfer.
