RES 1993-24 - 00003199ani RESOLUTION NO. 24 - 1993 ' RSBOLIIPION AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION IM A MEMB Ml+,BTE CXIUML CIEIIIISSION IWILTRATION /IN -FLOW GRANT WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission (KICC) is inviting communities to apply for grants up to $10,000 with City matching commitment for projects to reduce infiltration and in -flow, and WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has identified a corrugated metal pipe sanitary sewer connector line that has considerable ground water infiltration due to poor joint connections, and WHEREAS, the criteria for the MWCC grant focuses on physical improvements to sanitary systems which produce metropolitan benefit through infiltration reduction, and WHEREAS, the grant program supports the community-wide program for system improvements targeting long range projects, and WHEREAS, the City proposes to reline a portion of the 15 -inch CMP sanitary connector line between 4th and 5th Street on 61st Avenue in the summer of 1993. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, that John G. Flora, Director of Public Works is authorized ' to submit an application and serve as the City representative for the MWCC matching grant infiltration /in -flaw control project.
