RES 1993-43 - 0000326357 RESOLUTION NO. 43 -1993. ' RESOLUTION REQUESTING VARIANCES FROM MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION RULES FOR STATE AID OPERATIONS TO ALLOW STREET IMPROVEMENTS WITH VARIANCES FROM CREST VERTICAL CURVE AND HORIZONTAL CURVE STANDARDS WHEREAS, the City of Fridley desires to improve the following streets: using Municipal State Aid Funds; and WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation rules for State Aid operations, Chapters 8820.9935 and 8820.9945 address the design speed in critical curve areas; and WHEREAS, the streets in question were built to their existing grade over 30 years ago and adjoining properties have been totally developed for over 25 years; and WHEREAS, the existing street grades and alignments are totally functional to accommodate present and projected traffic on the streets in question; and WHEREAS, the City of Fridley believes there are other compelling reasons for maintaining the existing grades and alignments without affecting safety or traffic conditions. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the City of Fridley, Minnesota, does hereby request variances from Minnesota Department of Transportation rules for State Aid operations, Chapters 8820.9935 and 8820.9945 to allow for street improvements of the above mentioned streets with their approximate same grades and alignments.
