RES 1994-02 - 000029962 RESOLUTION NO. 2 - 1994 ' RESOLUTION ORDERING THE ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS FOR THE LOCKE LAKE DAM RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT NO. 211 WHEREAS, the City of Fridley received a Department of Natural Resources grant of $150,000 and a loan of $135,000 for the replacement of the Locke Lake dam, and WHEREAS, the Anoka County Parks and Recreation Department has agreed to participate in the dam restoration project for an amount of $100,000, and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on the restoration of Locke Lake dam on July 6, 1992 where it was established that the residents abutting the lake would be assessed an amount of approximately $3,056 and the residents in the sub - watershed of Locke Lake an amount of $389, and WHEREAS, Ayres and Associates out of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, was retained on April 5, 1993 to prepare plans and specification for the Locke Lake dam, and WHEREAS, the plans and specifications and permit approval from the DNR has been received for the Locke Lake dam. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the City Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, as follows: ' 1. That the following improvements proposed by Council hereby ordered to be effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible, to -wit: Dam improvements, including grading, stabilized base, hot mix bituminous mat, concrete curb and gutter, walkways, fishing pier, canoe portage, fencing, landscaping and other facilities located as follows: LOCKE LAKE DAM RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT NO. 211 That the work involved in said improvements as listed above shall hereafter be designated as: LOCKE LAKE DAM PROJECT NO. 211 2. The plans and specifications prepared by Ayres and Associates for such improvements and each of them pursuant to the Council resolutions heretofore adopted, a copy of which plans and specifications are hereto attached and made a part thereof, are hereby approved and shall be filed with City Clerk. The Public Works Director shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for (3) three weeks (at least 21 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state the bids will be opened and considered in the Council Chambers of the Fridley Municipal Center and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Public Works Director and 3 Page 2 -- Resolution No. 2 - 1994 accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five percent (58) of the amount of such bid. That the advertisement for bids for LOCKE LAKE DAM RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT NO. 211 shall be substantially in the standard form.
