RES 1995-26 - 0000286337 RESOLUTION NO. 26 - 1995 RESOLUTION APPROVING FINAL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE NORTHTOWN TRANSIT HUB IN THE CITY OF FRIDLEY AND COUNTY OF ANOKA, MINNESOTA WHEREAS, the Anoka County Regional Railroad Authority and the Metropolitan Council plan to construct a transit hub at Northtown Shopping Center in the City of Blaine, Minnesota; and WHEREAS, the Northtown Transit Hub will provide a free - standing transit facility for the northern suburbs, within a Metropolitan Council- designated regional business concentration and consistent with the region's Vision for Transit and the Anoka County's 2010 Comprehensive Transportation Plan; and WHEREAS, the project requires modifications to the surrounding roadway network, affecting Trunk Highway 47, County Road 3/University Avenue Extension, and 85th Avenue Northeast between TH 47 and CR 3; and WHEREAS, these roadway modifications are in Minnesota Department of Transportation roadway right -of -way within the cities of Blaine, Coon Rapids, Fridley or Spring Lake Park, and ' WHEREAS, the roadway modifications to TH 47 include a right turn lane from northbound TH 47 to eastbound 85th Avenue NE, in the southeast quadrant of the TH 47 - 85th Avenue NE intersection, within the City of Fridley; and WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has participated in multi- agency discussions on the project and received the review set of final engineering plans and specifications for the project in Fall, 1994. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the City Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, approves the Northtown Transit Hub roadway modifications within the City's Corporate Limits, as described the Northtown Transit Hub Engineering Plans.
