Burns, City Manager���" Subject: Joint Meeting on May 4 Date: Apri125, 2000 I would like to suggest that we focus on the following topics at our meeting on May 4. The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. and will be held in Meeting Room 1 on the lower level of the Municipal Center. Here are the projected topics: • The treatment of redevelopment areas by the comprehensive plan amendments. • Purchase of Central Avenue properties. • The mandate of the joint task force. • Redevelopment priorities and strategies (Questions Nos. 42 and 43 of the Council Commission Survey). • Apartment Rehabilitation (Question No. 44 of the Council/Commission Survey). • Affordable Housing (Question No. 45 of the Council/Commission Survey). • The Gateway East RFQ. As we consider each issue, I would like to suggest that we use the following procedure: • Hear a brief staff presentation on the topic. • Proceed to discuss the issue in a manner that gives everyone an opportunity to express his or her point of view on the issue without expectation that we will reach a conclusion. • Summarize the extent that we have consensus on each issue. • Where there is lack of consensus, rank the issue as a priority for future discussion. The objective of the meeting is to have as much shared discussion of the issues as possible and to create as much understanding as possible of both individual and group positions.
