RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR A STORM
WATER DRAINAGE RATE INCREASE
WHEREAS, Section 402.13 of the City Code provides that the City Council shall have the authority
to set the storm water drainage fee by resolution; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide an increase of revenue in order to achieve the breakeven point
within the Storm Water fund for 2011; and
WHEREAS, given the current economic climate, a determination was made to limit the storm water
rate increase to five percent; and
WHEREAS, this limit will result in a net loss of approximately $117,700 and will reduce cash
reserves by $134,800; and
WHEREAS, future annual increases are necessary to maintain the solvency of the Storm Water fund;
and
WHEREAS, the new rate is to be effective with the first billing in 2011.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved, that the following storm water drainage rate for all customers
shall be $10.89 per quarter per REF -acre.
